We are proud to announce that we are an official sponsor of Throw the Book at Cancer 2014, a fundraiser in support of gynecologic oncology research at the Sunnybrook Health Sciences Odette Cancer Centre.

The event will host a conversation with writers Wayne Grady (Emancipation Day), Ania Szado (Studio Saint-Ex), and Joshua Max Feldman (The Book of Jonah). It will be moderated by Steven Galloway (The Confabulist). Galloway is the award winning author of The Cellist of Sarajevo and acting chair at the UBC Creative Writing Program.

There will also be a reading, a prize raffle and a “throw the book” activity, facilitated by Alpha Textbooks, which will help raise more funds for the cause.

The event is set for Sunday November 2, 1:30 to 4:30 p.m., in the Granite Club’s grand ballroom. Cocktails, tea and treats will be served.
