Alpha Textbooks Inc. continued its longstanding tradition this year, by donating $750 to Kids Help Phone. Operating since 1989, Kids Help Phone is a charitable organization that provides free, anonymous and confidential phone and online professional counselling for children and youth.
Throughout the year, Alpha Textbooks gives its customers the opportunity to contribute to the Kids Help Phone upon completion of their book orders. In the spring of the following year, Alpha contributes its own portion to Kids Help Phone along with the collected donations.
“We believe that the Kids Help Phone is an essential service for children and youth. We are proud to support it,” said Howard Cohen, Alpha president.
Alpha Textbooks regularly contributes to youth-focused initiatives, whether it’s through charities, community events, sports teams or educational club sponsorships.
“Giving back and helping out is important to us,” said Cohen, “but it’s not just about giving back, it’s about fostering a community that gives back, too. We see Alpha and its sister company, BookSwap, taking on more initiatives like this in the future as we grow. What’s good for the community is good for us.”
Alpha Textbooks has been donating to the Kids Help Phone since 2004.
